Although known throughout the world as chinchilla feathers, these actually come from a rooster bird. Naturally the colour and distinctive marking is similar to a chinchilla - hence the name. These ones have been dyed a beautiful soft red colour.
These are coque (tail) feathers with a sturdy but flexible spine. Each feather is approximately 15cm long and there are over 500 feathers strung in the bundle. Great for weaving in to Korowai.
