Our Story

Rozcraft employs 30 crafty New Zealanders to manufacture gifts, souvenirs, maori taonga, interior design items, wool and possum clothing & accessories in their own homes around Rotorua. Roz started the business on her kitchen table in 1976 & still runs the business today. Roz invents the products herself, either from her own ideas or others requests and teaches the team to manufacture them.

Our factory in Rotorua is open 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri and you're always welcome to pop in if you're in Rotorua - we'd love to see you! Don't expect a flashy shop with neon lights - we do have an Eftpos machine nowadays, but we're all about manufacturing. The focus in on absolute quality NZ made products at a price that competes with imported items.

Natural, New Zealand materials are used in our manufacturing process and the range varies massively in price, size and serious-ness!

Pre-Covid the majority of our turnover came from supplying gift shops but at present most of them, especially those at tourist hot-spots like Auckland Airport are closed or not able to order from us - check out our Specials section that's resulted!

In the 1990's Roz designed her first Contemporary Korowai under guidance of Maori elders from the Rotorua region. These were an instant success with kiwis & lead to us developing a large range of Maori Taonga for individuals, Kapa Haka groups, schools & early childhood centres. Visiting the centres we soon realised how much teachers loved our ideas and resources for decorating their classrooms as well - creating a real natural NZ feel. They also loved our range of NZ craft items - especially when we told them the prices. 46 years of craft manufacturing means we have plenty of materials to help you bring out your own creative side.

And don't forget the pets and interior design items in the "Your Place" section; pets love natural products!  Hopefully you'll find something you like for yourself as well as the pets - natural New Zealand products to keep you warm and comfortable.
